Established in 2010, APIECALYPSE NOW! worked our way to our Markham Street Store from farmer’s markets and veg fests in and around Toronto! We are dedicated to creating vegan sweet and savoury food that will satisfy anyone, vegan or otherwise.

Our shop hasĀ been featured in multiple publications and won multiple awards because athough we may be a little punk on the outside, we’re all about making the best possible food for the city and the community we love.

This year we won BEST BAKERY in Toronto for 2014 in Now Magazine’s Reader Poll!

Additionally we were mentioned more than once in BlogTO this year, first as one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of 2014, a feature article when we opened, as well as on their must have holiday treat list for thanksgiving for our pumpkin pies (which we sold a few hundred of that weekend.) We have been featured in Now Magazine for their thanksgiving feature, the only vegan food on the list, as well as had a wrote up on our summer treats like jalapeno poppers and waffle-wich ice-cream sandwiches.

Most recently we have been featured on the artesian holiday treat list in Toronto Life Magazine for our cookie boxes, as well we were featured in their “Neighbourhoods” list for Cristie Pits, and in their 2015 eating and drinking guide. We’ve been mentioned by 102.1 The Edge, CIUT 89.5FM, Animal Voices Radio, and Toronto.Com

In 2013 we won best in show at the Vegan Bake Off with our Magic Squares, and in 2014 we won both categories we were in (best vegan classic for our sticky bun and best gluten free classic for our peppermint nanaimo bars) and runner up for best overall. This year we’ll be entering again with high hopes!

For one of the smallest shops in the city, we’re making a big impact, and we hope to keep doing so as one of the things the shop strives to do is use it’s platform to raise awareness and funds for animal liberation and rehabilitation. We currently are partnered with All Creatures Rescue, Wildlife Defense League, The Bunny Alliance, and Toronto ADL. We raise funds for Cedar Row Farm Sanctuary, Sea Shepherd Australia, Marineland Animal Defense and other immediate or urgent animal rescue opportunities that arise.

We’re the little vegan bakery that could! (Well, we might.)
